She made her mark in showbiz with a daily soap but actress Prachi Desai has no plans of making a comeback to TV’s never-ending series. The 27-year-old actress, who became the household name with her lead role in Balaji Telefilms’ Kasamh Se, however, would consider doing a finite TV series if the role is good. “Finite series would be very interesting because amazing people like Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Kapoor do such shows on TV. So, something which has a deadline to it would be fabulous, provided if I get a fab role,” Prachi told PTI. In 2014, both Bachchan and Kapoor introduced miniseries Yudh and 24 respectively to Indian television. While plot of Yudh did not go well with the audience, 24 is coming up with the second season. Prachi said she has never been offered a role since she left TV to concentrate on film projects. “I really enjoyed that golden phase of my career in TV. It’s so surprising that people still remember those shows and roles. “It’s a huge blessing and opportunity but there is no plan of returning to TV with daily soaps. When I did my first film Rock On, I bid goodbye to TV and ever since nobody has offered me a television show.”

“Money Monster” director Jodie Foster has commented on the gender wage gap in Hollywood, saying it’s a valid issue. “In terms of pay, it’s hard for me to get interested in millionaires worried about who gets paid more,” Foster said, explaining that the market effectively dictates what an actor or actress will make on a project and that the main factor for studios as they negotiate pay is risk.  “I’m just so grateful to be an actor, and I know lots of actors feel that way, that it’s hard for us to complain because we’re artists, and unfortunately we’re artists in a marketplace, and the marketplace pays what the marketplace demands, so we need to change the marketplace.” The issue of equal pay in the film industry exploded last summer when Jennifer Lawrence wrote a well-publicised essay on the matter in Lena Dunham’s Lenny newsletter. Since then, many female stars including Meryl Streep, Emma Watson and Reese Witherspoon have spoken out on the matter, said the Hollywood Reporter. “These are conversations that we need to have in our culture,” Foster said. “We need to have conversations about diversity all over the place, and inequality. Especially now, when the class inequality and financial inequality is larger than ever, and it really is the problem of our future. Its something that we all need to look at and think about how to solve.”

“(I) wouldn’t call it a mistake, it just is what happened in my life, so I’m excited to see what the future holds. It happened, and now I have to say I’m happier than I’ve ever been,” Cuoco said. The actress and Sweeting, 28, separated after 21 months of marriage in September 2015. The estranged couple finalized their divorce on Friday, May 6.

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan says due to her movies and the amount of time she spends in Kolkata, human beings frequently assume she is a Bengali. The actress made her debut in films in a leading function with the Bengali film Bhalo Theko in 2003 earlier than debuting in Bollywood with “Parineeta”.
The 38-year-old Ishqiya star will be next seen in Te3n which is set in Kolkata. “I don’t think there is a question of returning to Kolkata because I spend half my days there invariably. But it was wonderful. People are so warm and welcoming, my debut film was a Bengali film, even before ‘Parineeta’, so they actually think I am Bengali,” Vidya told reporters.
The actress garnered acclaim for her portrayal of Vidya Bagchi, a pregnant woman searching for her missing husband in Kolkata in Kahaani and will be back to the city for the sequel. “Everyone speaks to me in Bengali and I show off my Bengali wherever I can, I know songs, rhymes and slangs… When I am in Kolkata, I don’t miss home that much. I am back there for Kahaani 2 now and it feels we went there for Te3n and just stayed back.”n
Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, ‘TE3N’ also features megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and is about a crime that affects its three lead characters. Bachchan, 73, stars in the film as John Biswas, a grandfather on the pursuit of justice since eight years while Siddiqui plays Father Martin Das, whose life was changed forever by the same crime that claimed the life of John’s granddaughter.
Vidya will be seen in a special appearance as the cop who swings into action when an identical crime is repeated eight years later. The ‘Paa’ actress says it was nice to work with Nawazuddin after their hit film ‘Kahaani’. “Nawaz and I were meeting in Kolkata after six years, after we shot ‘Kahaani’. In these six years post ‘Kaahani’ we hadn’t met at all. Both of us had lots of films in between but it was nice catching up with him and working. Most of my scenes are with Nawaz.”
The actress learnt how to drive for her role and says filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh, who is the creative producer in ‘TE3N’, was her driving instructor. “I know how to drive but I’ve never been a confident driver but for this I wanted to do it myself so I actually drove around Kolkata. Sujoy was my driving instructor. That’s the only real preparation I did.” The film is scheduled to release on June 10.

Actress Kristen Bell has revealed that she struggled with anxiety and depression from a young age. The 35-year-old star, who has daughters Lincoln, three, and Delta, 16 months, with husband Dax Shepard, said the problem runs through her family, reported People magazine.
“I’m extremely co-dependent. I shatter a little bit when I think people don’t like me. That’s part of why I lead with kindness and I compensate by being very bubbly all the time because it really hurts my feelings when I know I’m not liked. And I know that’s not very healthy and I fight it all the time,” the Frozen star said. Bell told “Off Camera With Sam Jones” that her mother, a nurse, gave her tips to combat the feelings of depression.n
The actress said she is not ashamed to ask for help and still takes medication to keep her depression and anxiety at bay.
“If you do decide to go on a prescription to help yourself, understand that the world wants to shame you for that, but in the medical community, you would never deny a diabetic his insulin. Ever.
“But for some reason, when someone needs a serotonin inhibitor, they’re immediately crazy or something.”

Actress Meera Chopra is a fan of her cousin Priyanka Chopra’s romantic comedy film Dostana and wishes to do something similar in the future.
“I love Dostana and everything about the film. I’m a fan of urban movies and I think Priyanka came across as reinvented in Dostana. So, I would like to see myself in that kind of a role,” Meera said at the screening of her film, 1920 London here.
“I’m a fan of Fashion and Dostana since a very long time and she (Priyanka) knows that very well. She tells me, ‘Step by step, even you will reach there’. So, I’m just taking my baby steps right now,” she added.
Produced by Karan Johar and directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Dostana was a success at the box-office. It also starred actors Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham.
After acting in numerous films in southern cinema, Meera has made her full-fledged Bollywood debut with the Sharman Joshi-starrer horror film 1920 London, after a small role in Gang Of Ghosts.n

She also credits Priyanka for not having any unpleasant experiences in the industry.
“I have only seen the good side of Bollywood as of now, maybe because of Priyanka. I have always received very good treatment in Bollywood and have always got respect. I haven’t seen any dark or horror side,” Meera said.
Is she still open to southern cinema?
“If I get something good in South, I’ll definitely do it. I love Hindi, I love Bollywood, I want to do a lot of work, so right now my whole concentration is Bollywood,” Meera said.
“I am a north Indian Delhi girl. I was just working in South, I didn’t enjoy it. It is fun to work in Hindi, it’s our own people so you can speak your own language, so it’s comfortable,” she said.

Actress Kristen Stewart has reportedly called off her romance with French girlfriend Stephanie Sokolinski. The Twilight star, 26, went public with the new relationship in March, after she was photographed with singer-actress Stephanie, also known as Soko, on the streets of Paris, reported Us magazine. Stewart, who is notoriously private about her personal life, did not comment on the new woman in her life, but Soko seemed to confirm they were a couple in a recent interview. However, it appears the romance has ended, with a source saying the pair has since parted ways. Unfazed by the flak she received for her last year’s Cannes red carpet outing, actress Sonam Kapoor says she does not pay attention to the scrutiny of fashion critics.
Kapoor’s Elie Saab dress at Cannes last year became a source of memes on social media.
“I concentrate on positives always. I don’t pay heed to negativity or criticism surrounding my appearance. I am pretty excited about my sixth outing at Cannes I am looking forward to it. I am always excited to go to a platform, which is so international,” said Kapoor.
The Neerja star, 30, said she has not decided on her outfits yet.
“I haven’t thought about the dresses yet. I am going to do the fittings. It depends on what I am trying to figure out with it but I would always have some Indian element.”
Kapoor will make her red carpet appearance on May 16, and 17. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who celebrates 15 years at the festival, will also be attending.
Katrina Kaif, who made her debut at Cannes last year, will give a miss to the gala event as the actress is busy with “prior commitments”.
Besides the red carpet appearances, Kapoor wishes to watch some international films at the festival.
“I would love to watch a couple of films. It’s a place where you get to see many films all over the world. But my schedule depends on the time I have.
“I would love to meet celebrities, who would help me to evolve and give a different perspective of life,” she said.

They don’t call her a diva for nothing.  Mariah Carey has reportedly insured her “vocal cords and hamstrings” for $35 million each, according to TMZ. The media outlet reports that the singer insured her legs and voice because she’s extending her current tour to South America, meaning there’s even more money on the line. But considering Carey’s engaged to billionaire James Packer, we’re wondering if she really needs the extra insurance.
Plenty of people in Hollywood — like Rihanna, Heidi Klum, Julia Roberts and Bruce Springsteen — have allegedly insured body parts that are vital to their careers. Jennifer Lopez reportedly even insured her backside for up to $27 million, but she recently shut that rumor down during a “Carpool Karaoke” special with James Corden.
“There is no such thing as that!” Lopez said, getting somewhat heated in her conversation with Corden. “Let’s not talk about it.” What do you lambs think?

Scarlett Johansson is Cosmopolitan’s May cover star and she doesn’t hold back one bit in her open and honest interview.
The Captain America: Civil War actress devotes most of her time and talking points to two issues that are important to women everywhere: the funding for Planned Parenthood and the battle for equal pay. “There are countries at war, there’s terrorism, global warming, and we’re like, ‘We should definitely cut the budget for Planned Parenthood,’” Johansson said, referencing GOP candidates that want to defund the reproductive health services organization. “Let’s take away the availability of women’s health initiatives!’... It’s nuts.”  The 31-year-old actress explained that Planned Parenthood is used to help detect and prevent cervical and breast cancers and talked about the ways in which the nonprofit organization helped her growing up. “Growing up, I used [PP’s] services. All my girlfriends did — not just for birth control, but for Pap smears and breast exams.” Johansson said, adding “You read about the rise of back alley-abortions, women having to mutilate themselves and teenagers having to seek help in unsafe conditions, and for what?! We’re moving backward when we’re supposed to be moving forward.”  Amen to that.  Johansson also carefully voiced her support for equal pay, a topic many actresses in Hollywood have spoken up about after Jennifer Lawrence wrote an essay devoted to sexism and wage gap in the industry. “I am very fortunate, I make a really good living, and I’m proud to be an actress who’s making as much as many of my male peers at this stage,” Johansson said. “I think every woman has [been underpaid], but unless I’m addressing it as a larger problem, for me to talk about my own personal experience with it feels a little obnoxious. It’s part of a larger conversation about feminism in general.”

It's good news for a few (the couple involved for sure) and bad news for others. Bollywood's actress Bipasha Basu has finally announced that she is getting hitched to her long-time beau Karan Singh Grover leaving many heartbroken. no doubt.
Rumours have been circulating of late that the duo will get married this month and the couple have finally issued a statement to the media.
"We are happy to finally share the good news with everyone. 30th April 2016 is the big day and we cannot thank our family, friends, fans and well wishers enough for all their love and support. The wedding will be a private intimate affair .Our deepest gratitude for respecting our privacy this far .We hope to have your continued blessings and warm wishes as we embark on this new journey together."
One of the first to take to Twitter to wish the couple is Baywatch babe Priyanka Chopra: "I'm truly so happy for my friend Bipasha Basu and her handsome bridegroom to be Karan Singh Grover. You are a golden heart...You deserve so much and more," Priyanka tweeted. There are speculations that they will have a Bengali wedding at Bipasha's residence followed by an elaborate reception at night. This is the Jism star's first marriage and the Hate Story 3 star's third. Karan was first married to TV actress Shraddha Nigam and then to Jennifer Winget.

The Hrithik Roshan-Kangana Ranaut spat got murkier with the actress approaching the Commissioner of Police seeking the actor's arrest for allegedly circulating her personal photographs and e-mails to the media and "wilfully outraging" her modesty.
Kangana's advocate Rizwan Siddiqui sent a letter to the Commissioner of Police on April 6 requesting him to look into the matter and take appropriate action.
"My client Kangana Ranaut has been given to understand that her absolutely private and confidential e-mails as well as photographs which were collected by Hrithik Roshan during his association with her are being malafidely and mischievously misused by Hrithik Roshan with criminal intentions of damaging my client's reputation and to wilfully impute in-chastity to her," the letter signed by Siddiqui to the Police Commissioner (Dattatray Padsalgikar) read.
